Space…

Space (n): Sufficient freedom from external pressure to develop or explore one’s needs, interests, and individuality: “The need for personal space inevitably asserts itself” (Maggie Scarf)

Joining the world of blogging means many things to me. First, I’m creatively bunged up from 30 years of mass media cheese and I believe that writing will help me get the juicy ideas flowing and the mojo working. Second, I want to contribute to some truth in the world. My pov is not sponsored, my cousin doesn’t run the blog or wish to influence its success, my brother is not the keeper of this domain and my friends have no connection to my wallet… catch my drift? We have some serious work to do in our culture when it comes to truth and integrity in documenting our history and I’d like to be part of that REVOLUTION. Is this not the power we all believed the internet would award us? And lastly, it’s my space and I’m going to use it!

So cheers to lilyonthedustbin and many years of writing to come, hope you will be part of it…

Congrats to creating this site! I would raise a glass to creating space if I happened to be holding one. It is the most important thing we can do right now. Finding the path to truth and wisdom is not as important as creating a space between the concrete and white noise in order to let in appear. Where the lilies grow, as it were …

A good sentiment and well expressed. The phrase ‘lily on the dustbin’ has always suggested to me the idea of the potential for beauty / truth tossed on the old dung heap, there to sit, to sadly wither, heartlessly left by an uncaring world, never to know the fruition of the possibility that was once, but is no more.

Or perhaps, Lily, this was not what you had in mind.

At any rate, the potential for truth, integrity and the chance to write the history we hope to read, is lily enough for me and so I say, onward all! Set not the lily on the dustbin, but read, write and opine herein!
