Sorry to spoil the suspense Carman, but the pic from my last post is indeed of Ricky Gervais!
Gervais was the lead vocalist in a new wave band called Seona Dancing in the early 80s and the pic is from a Japanese music mag; Japan being one a few countries where Seona Dancing met moderate success.

So, Gervais has come a long way. He’s currently podcasting, along with Stephen Merchant and Karl Pilkington, for the next 12 weeks over at the Guardian.
Episode #1 is up: “In which Ricky, Steve and Karl discuss … the pros and cons of technological invention, leading on to Karl’s Malthusian concerns and a possible solution. There’s a digression into the extra sensory perception of early hominids. Oh, and some Monkey News of course. Plus strange tales about lethal drinking vessels and stately homes.”
