Earlier this month, the Huz and I visited some friends at their new home in Oakville and even though it was a housewarming of sorts for them (doubling also as a post-Thanksgiving eat-em-up turkeyfest), it was I who left with the best gift: a box of “Bible Charades” playing cards, circa 1976.

These lovely little devils were hidden away in their basement - can you believe it?? The basement seems like the place you’d find lost treasures of a more pornographic nature, don’t you think? Like Bettie Page playing cards or maybe even that decades old Playboy with the letter from the guy who makes love to a thawed turkey and decides to cook it and serve it to his friends anyway… LOL - kind of takes made with love to a new level. I’d be content to find a copy of that too. Okay, I suppose I should qualify *why* that turkey-lovin’ issue of Playboy interests me considering I am co-thrower of a party called TURKEYDAY each year. [*shudder*] It’s because over the years, several people I know have independently mentioned reading that same letter when they were young - it’s left a haunting impression on the collective and I’d be interested in reading it / sharing it again as an adult. [*shudder*]
So Bible Charades. You get a little help to start:

Phew… glad they remembered to help us out with that whole “judgement” thing. Even with those opening signs to get us started, most verses seem ridiculously impossible - for example, how would you perform:

or:

???
But with a little faith and a whole lotta booze, we could try? Come on party people.
There are other biblicalicious games out there too… A simple google search on “bible charades” reveals a whole new world! I’ve been aware of the fact that Christian video games are a big scene (there’s even a Christian Game Developers Conference) - but did you know about: Bible Picture Bingo; Bible Truths Fishing; Bible Picture Dominoes; Books of the Bible Spinner Game; Bible Trivia Baseball Game; Bible Story Dice Throw; Parable of the Lost Sheep Game; Who/What Bible Bingo; Bible Hot Potato; Bible Character Tag.
Who knew!?
