Itatu Orphan Care in Malawi
My sister-in-law, Jennifer Douma, is in Malawi this summer opening an orphan care facility and she’s blogging about her experience at itatuorphancare.com.
On the site there’s a donation widget thingamajig - if you feel you can spare a buck or two to help Jennifer setup and buy supplies, she’d appreciate it and so would the kids.
Jennifer has worked out the cost of a few items so far, so you have an idea of how far your donation could go:
- Bar of soap @ $0.40
- Spoons @ $0.15 each
- Bowls @ 0.35 each
- A bunch of small bananas @ $0.20
- Notebooks @ $0.10
- Pencils @$0.10
- firewood is $20 for a month
- meat once a week is about $20 a month
