1000 Ideas for Creative Reuse

In the spirit of shameless self-promotion I have to tell you about an incredible new design book that my bottle caps are featured in: 1000 Ideas for Creative Reuse: Remake, Restyle, Recycle, Renew by Garth Johnson of ExtremeCraft.

When I was first notified that I was selected for the book, I was over the moon. Then I started thinking … even though I follow Garth’s blog and know he does great work, I began to entertain the notion that maybe, just maybe, this project was merely a scheme to sell books (1000 artists selected = 1000 books sold, right?).

Nada. I picked up the book over the weekend and it’s seriously great. Physically, it’s bigger than I thought it would be and the actual quality of the stock and layout is top-notch too.

The huz and I are both so inspired we’re already making plans to build end tables from old books and many other somethings from nothing.

If you have any interest in creative reuse as it relates to GOOD design, this is a great reference book. And if you want to know which of my ‘caps were selected, well you gots to buy the book, yeah …

UPDATE: Canadian friends, here’s the amazon.ca link for the book: http://bit.ly/6r9tdy

I have to admit, I’m a wee bit disappointed you’re linking to amazon.com and not amazon.ca.

I know all the $ goes back to Yankee Imperialist Running Dogs of Capitalism, .com or .ca, but pushing .ca at least gives Canuck readers CAD options and impresses on our American Bullies/Masters having a .ca option is somewhat worthwhile.

    Love you.

You’re totally right Daniel and I’m usually mindful of this. For professional reasons, my affiliate account is with amazon.com and I don’t wish to manage two accounts.

Feel free to circumvent my links and head over to amazon.ca – here’s the Canadian link, http://bit.ly/6r9tdy , sans my affiliate ID. I’ll sacrifice my quarter for ya…
