I’ve been playing with different ingredients for my daily breakfast smoothie and I think I’ve finally come up with the perfect recipe. I want this smoothie to do two things for me (besides the nutritional benefits!): 1) taste great; 2) keep me satiated until my midday meal. The almond butter and kale are recent additions and I think those are really the two key ingredients when it comes satisfying that morning hunger.

Danielle’s breakfast smoothie recipe:
8 oz unsweetened almond milk
1 medium banana
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
3-5 strawberries (raw or frozen)
1 tablespoon almond butter
2 tablespoons ground flaxseed
2-3 generous handfuls of raw kale (I use purple kale)
optional: 3 pineapple chunks
calories: approx. 450
